Buzz Like This Only Comes
Around Every Few Lightyears!
True confessions.
I started writing copy for this page no less than 10 times, but it wasn't until I was driving down a beautiful Virginia country road wondering why I was having so much trouble writing this, that it came to me:
I was trying to write great web copy, when instead, I just needed to speak to you from my heart about what's here now and why there's buzz about it.
So, it is from that place that I begin.
Brilliant Marketing!™ = a(step x step) a-z(approa)(CH) 2(mktg)
(Just so you know, this is Kimberlee H. Ramierz , developer of The Brilliant Marketing!™ System, writing to you.)
Roughly fourteen years ago I had a successful career in corporate technology and then started my own consulting firm. I had no clue how to market but I had an uncanny knack for research. I also had an un-ending drive to figure out how to market like crazy... because my comfort level prospecting and "selling" was nonexistent. As I researched and tested my brilliant ideas, I applied the same analysis and business process re-engineering skills I'd used so successfully in IT... and prospects came to me, ready to buy... and selling was rarely ever involved. Doing this, "birthed" an approach to marketing that had just never been done before. Or since.
Business boomed! As others saw my success and wondered how I did it, my IT consulting business naturally morphed to a marketing consulting biz. I had more business than I could reasonably handle. For most, that would be a great problem to have with an obvious solution (increase rates based on demand). But for me? A gut-wrenching, consuming dilemma. I was passionately vested in helping people who needed help most. The micro-businesses and small business owners who were out there with a dream... against the odds... those who had good ideas and no clue how to market them. The ones who were risking everything... their financial security, their dream, and in many cases their self-esteem; those who were easy prey to costly ideas and bad marketing advice. Ohhhhh, Vhat to do... Vhat to do.
Inspired by Yet Another Logical Genius
In "Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan" the Enterprise faces annihilation unless the ship can somehow manage to reach warp speed. Spock leaves the bridge and sacrifices his life so the Enterprise can be started and escape. In the process Spock dies of severe radiation poisoning. In his parting words Spock informs Kirk that his decision to die was logical, "The Needs of the Many Must Outweigh the Needs of the Few or the One."
My epiphany was painful, powerful, and necessary: I needed to stop engaging with the "the one", do something different and start meeting the needs of "the many". Loooooooooooooong story short, I did that: stopped consulting and started teaching workshops. Again, because of the material, I found great success, won awards and honors; I even quickly became the small business consultant on Denver's The Business Beat radio program (go figure!) And still it resonated strongly... as if the voice weren't in my head but from "somewhere out in the final frontier".
Yes, I had moved from helping "the one"... to helping "the few"... but I was still limited on how people many I could reach to make a difference. I needed yet a different business model and Spock's final message kept haunting me. (And I'm not even a Trekie! What was going on?)
So... even though cracking the code that allows small business and micro businesses to market like experts using A Living Marketing Manual™... without any previous marketing experience or education... was definitely new news and buzz worthy. But it was only the genesis.

So What Seemed Like Lightyears Later...
Okay. So Brilliant Marketing!™ was developed, tested, proven... AND the task now was coming up with another brilliant idea... how to structure it so I wasn't part of the service... so it wasn't bound to me or me to it. Because really... it's not about me at all. It's about the work and about getting that to small and micro businesses in a way they could really learn it... really use it!
Finally - the "ah hah" moment...
Several years go by; I spend them documenting all processes, systems, templates, procedures, and lessons... working with more small and micro businesses refining everything. And what seemed like light years later, as a result, Brilliant Marketing!™ is no longer something only I teach in a classroom setting, but something that "can be taken out to many... BY many."
Then, something else I never expected: as I was bringing this project all down the home-stretch, the news about the economy was... bad! At first, it seemed frightening... and then, clarity: NEVER BEFORE was it so important to get the word out about Brilliant Marketing!™ - to as many as possible, as quickly as possible, because not since the Great Depression had there been as many in need of helping themselves financially.

Ramirez's story and how Brilliant Marketing!™ (the company and/or the methodology) were created; lots of compelling, motivating, and otherwise great content that will absolutely connect with readers; her background is like theirs... and her success didn't come easily or overnight. In fact, her breakthrough came from a source no one anticipated... and it's interesting and DIFFERENT! And Beth Patterson's story... a completely different angle with a business history that will resonate really well with your audience too!
An Amazing Business Story - (PITCH SHEET) Kimberlee and Beth, the co-founders of this website, have never met face-to-face... never worked together prior to this business... and live in different states, hundreds of miles apart. The story of their venture has everything to do with the power of focus, teamwork, and perseverance. It becomes even more interesting when you consider a key team player and graphic designer, Fiona Mayer, lives in a different country (over a thousand miles away). They've never met Fiona either, and it makes the accomplishment of these women even more interesting when you know Fi is a 4-time primary cancer survivor who several years ago "traded her voice for her life" (meaning there is no verbal communication either; everything is communicated via email!) The creation of thebrilliantmarketinggroup.com website and the business it supports has been accomplished through use of technology and more importantly, compassion for each other. And and commitment, of course. Commitment to the project; commitment to each other.
Scholarship / Give-Away Idea / Feature Contest - we can collaborate, sponsor a contest or other "event" and award Brilliant Marketing!™ courses to small businesses/micro businesses, then track the success of those businesses using Brilliant Marketing!™ for the next 6-12 months; GREAT STORY idea in this economy!
